Business merger sets course for a brighter future

PRG helped local businesses set sail towards a brighter future with the announcement of an important business merger at the Royal Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club.
The Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce (EDCC) and the Eastbourne District Enterprise Agency Ltd (EDEAL), who have merged to expand their range of services and level of business support, announced their news at the well-attended harbour event on April 7.
The celebration was organised by PRG who arranged for members of the press and photographers to attend to maximise publicity. PRG also invited Government Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills, Ed Davey, who lent his support to the initiative designed to boost the development, growth and prosperity of employers and businesses in Wealden and Eastbourne.
PRG was on hand to ensure the event sailed through, coordinating
the speaker presentations and arranging for key speakers to
pose
for the cameras. EDCC President, Christina Ewbank, and
EDEAL
Chief Executive, Ray Mason, posed alongside the MP on
a luxury
yacht, which provided a centre page spread for the
Business Matters
section in the Eastbourne Herald.
EDEAL will now be under the control of EDCC, which will help
create
a new dynamic in accelerating Wealden and Eastbourne’s
economic
growth. Both organisations will remain as separate
incorporated
entities with all staff remaining employed by their
organisations, but
both teams will shortly begin working together
from the Chamber’s
offices in Hyde Gardens, Eastbourne.
Ray Mason, who is now the Chief Executive of both organisations,
said: “Our joint Business Development Plan is ambitious. Our
mission is for the combined EDCC and EDEAL organisation to be
the
visionary economic development leader, unified to promote
and
enhance the commerce and community development of Eastbourne
and the surrounding region.
“Who better to help us with our announcement than PRG.”
