The value of media coverage
PRG has the experience and vision to generate maximum media coverage with the smallest or largest budget. With over 30 year’s experience in the building services industry, PRG has been perfectly positioned to maximise publicity for Johnson Controls.
Continuously liaising with the client to establish newsworthy stories, in just six months PRG has generated more than £17,500 worth of media coverage, more than four times the original investment. By another industry measure, which recommends the equivalent advertising costs are multiplied by a factor of three because editorial coverage has more credibility and communicates more than advertising, PRG has produced media coverage worth nearly £53,000 - nearly 12 times the client’s initial investment.
Johnson Controls is a global company and PRG is part of a Pan-European network of six agencies located in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Managed by Outsource Communications in Belgium, PRG is responsible for the UK delivery of Outsource-coordinated pan-European PR for Johnson Controls’ Building Efficiency division.
With such a large company, newsworthy stories are not always obvious to the client, so PRG steps in to highlight interesting story angles. Stories highlighted by the press due to contributions from PRG have included, for examples one about the British Embassy in Berlin, where Johnson Controls is responsible for facilities management and energy management of the 10,000 sq m building. The 50 year contract was the first PFI contract negotiated with the government outside the UK.
Since the launch of Johnson Controls’ Institute for Building
Efficiency
(IBE), PRG has been able to capitalise on Johnson
Controls’ 125
years experience and knowledge to establish the
company as an
authoritative voice on issues such as the Carbon
Reduction
Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme.
Amongst the trade journals in the building services and energy
sectors, PRG has a reputation for reliability and accuracy.
This was
confirmed by the editor of a leading air conditioning
and refrigeration
magazine who contacted the office about a
feature article PRG had
written and submitted on behalf of Johnson
Controls. The editor
remarked: “Rarely do I get an article that
requires so little editing,
is exactly the specified length
for a full page, tackles the topic to the
right technical depth
and is well supported by high resolution
images. Thank you for
your hard work.”
