Great Britain has won the Davis Cup for the first time in 79 years thanks to the amazing skills of Andy Murray and Team GB!

World number two Murray played outstandingly and defeated David Goffin in just three sets 6-3 7-5 6-3 to give us a 3-1 lead over Belgium yesterday making it the 10th time Britain has won the team title. Murray now adds the Davis Cup to his other major titles at Wimbledon, the US Open and the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The last British contender to win the Davis Cup was Fred Perry in 1936, and the last time Britain even competed in a final was in 1978.

Could Andy Murray now be on his way to a knighthood by the Queen and also win BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2015?
