Green award confirms marketing success
A national environmental award has been presented to the East Sussex Energy Partnership, confirming the effectiveness of a marketing campaign run by PRG.
In a ceremony at the House of Commons, the Partnership of four Local Authorities received a silver Green Apple Award in recognition of its efforts to make homes more fuel-efficient, reduce fuel poverty and cut CO2 emissions.
The East Sussex Energy Partnership provides government-funded grants to help privately owned and privately rented households insulate their homes and/or install solar panels. The scheme benefited 3,334 homes in its first year, reducing CO2 emissions by 3,275 tonnes and saving households £276,020 in heating costs. The four participating Councils, by meeting challenging targets, have qualified for increased funding in year two.
PRG’s marketing campaign included strategic planning, PR to generate media coverage, direct mail, print advertising, outdoors advertising, and the creation and optimisation of a website.
The Green Apple Awards, organised by The Green Organisation, are presented annually in recognition of companies, councils and communities carrying out projects that enhance the environment. This year there were 500 nominations.
The East Sussex Energy Partnership’s installation works are managed by Climate Energy Ltd on behalf of Eastbourne Borough Council, Hastings Borough Council, Wealden District Council and Rother District Council.
