Macmillan Coffee Morning: Eating Cake for a Good Cause

Guest blogger Helena Vallely reports on a very successful and delicious Macmillan cake and coffee morning!

The sun tentatively shone through the bunting and balloon-bedecked windows of PRG on the morning of Friday 25th September, onto a heaving table packed with delectable cakes and treats of all shapes and sizes, which had been painstakingly baked (or bought) for this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning.

The sense of anticipation was tangible as the staff and friends of PRG filed in throughout the morning to make the most of the coffee, cakes, cookies and croissants, play games such as ‘Spot the Cake’, and partake in the raffle.

Esteemed guests who attended the event included Lee Davis of Zest, Gavin Fisher of Children’s Respite Trust, Nick Gontar of Ponte Giulio, Jonathan Dolding of YellowDot Management, Claire Coussens and James and Gary Hamblyn of Ross and Co., Les Marriott and Anna Barr of Lawler Davis, Mark McFadden of Stiles Harold Williams, James Hopkins of Hopkins & Partners, Sam Askaroff of MOBA, John Bowles of FieldSkill, Kim Hutchinson of Colvin Cleaning, Will Oastler of WRLO Associates, Ian Lucas of Eastbourne Conservatives, and Neil Hooper and Chris Mizen from Handelsbanken.

In total our Coffee Morning raised £234 for Macmillan, and the lucky winner of the ‘Spot the Cake’ grand prize, a much-coveted bottle of fizz, was John Bowles of FieldSkill.

Thank you to everyone that attended, ate cake and helped us raise money for such a good cause!
