The afternoon kicked off with a ‘Swoove’ fitness warm up and all the girls had their faces painted with glitter. Our two teams, Team A and Team B, took part in the Workforce 5km course with giant inflatable obstacles. Each of our teams had four members running and our Team A proved triumphant racing to success to win the event, with our B Team not far behind. Simon Groves, Managing Director of PRG, said “It goes without saying that the last year has been a tough one with the loss of our dear friend and colleague Martyn Leek. Taking part as a team in St Wilfrid’s KAPOW event was our way of thanking them for the amazing support they gave Martyn and his family. I’m very proud of the team for racing to victory and I’m sure Martyn had a chuckle looking down on us on the day seeing us in our full Superhero glory.”
Even though our 5km obstacle challenge is over we are still taking donations if anyone wishes to contribute via our Just Giving page! The money raised will make a big difference to the care that the clinical teams provide at the hospice and also out in the community.
This event really brought our team together to race and raise money for the good cause which is St Wilfrid’s Hospice and we look forward to our next challenge!
