Whether you’re a service or product based company, getting your customers to share the love can be tricky. However, Google reviews can help your SEO as well as your credibility. This Valentine’s Day, our team of marketing experts share their tips for getting customers to share the love for your brand online…
Give love – Incentivise customers
Ask customers to do something and most will want to know – what’s in it for me? Why not offer customers a discount in return for leaving a Google or social media review? Alternatively, you could enter customers in to a prize draw in exchange for their review. Just be careful how you use their data; anything you do should be GDPR compliant.
Be devoted – make it easy
If you want customers to leave you a review, show some dedication and make it easy for them! Provide links and a short explanation on how to do so. If cupid has struck and you’ve received good feedback from a customer via phone or email, ask if they’d mind sharing publicly on your social media platforms.
Invest time in Google reviews
Improving your Google my business listing shouldn’t just be a one-time effort. Be consistent and ensure your listing is up to date. Regularly promote that you’d like customers to leave a review and make it part of your sales / aftercare process. If you operate locally, don’t underestimate the importance your Google my business profile has on your search position.
Value your partners
Don’t forget about other business acquaintances – suppliers and others you’ve worked with may also be willing to give you a review. Remember the value of what they’re providing and return the favour!
Don’t panic if the love is unrequited
Sadly, sometimes love is unrequited. While your brand may love its customers, a few of them may not feel the same. If you receive a negative review online, be professional and try to steer the conversation offline. You cannot delete Google or Facebook reviews easily. Don’t panic though; all companies receive complaints from time to time.
