What a way to start the week! If you want to kick-start a Monday morning and get all of your team animated and talking, I suggest you definitely accept a request from Eastbourne’s MP Stephen Lloyd when he wants to visit your business.
Perhaps he can live with a cheesy Barnaby Bee character a lot easier than me, but he definitely put a buzz into the PRG team when he called this morning, and it was not just the sugar rush from the mass of Danish pastries and doughnuts we so generously supplied. Quite simply, he was great.
As many of us will have observed, whether you spotted him at any one of the six or so charity and community events he visited last Saturday, or have seen him chairing and tasking meetings, he has incredible passion for the Town. His enthusiasm for what is going on as well as what urgently needs putting right seems boundless, and it breaks down barriers. You find yourself engaged, regardless of the politics.
It was good to have Stephen remind us of the value of our environment, how fortunate we are to live or work in Eastbourne, and how important it is for us all to do our bit to “champion” the Town and make sure it succeeds.
A real boost, all helped, of course, by the sun beating down and the background sound of grass being cut in the beautiful Devonshire Park adjoining our offices.
