Creating an event brand identity
Held over four days in August, Airbourne has been voted the UK’s best free air show on numerous occasions and brings in hundreds of tourists from all over the world into Eastbourne.
PRG Marketing Communications was approached by the Tourism & Leisure department of Eastbourne Borough Council in 2003 and was asked to design and create an event brand identity from scratch for their international air show event, Airbourne, which had to be consistent throughout all marketing collateral.
Our creative design team first had a meeting with Eastbourne Borough Council to discuss the brief, any ideas they had and most importantly their brand values and the desired focus.
First we designed and created visuals for the brand; liaising over email and telephone making sure the client was happy with the work. We then went on to create eye-catching brochures which consisted of over 60 pages, posters, adverts, leaflets, print advertising, direct mail, flyers and web ads.
We also created larger promotional material such as lamppost banners sited on major arterial routes into town and other large format banners, which were placed on bus shelters and in the local train station.
It was essential that throughout this process each product design was consistent to form an event brand identity that members of the public would remember.
Matt Sommers, PRG’s Studio Production Manager has designed and created new exciting concepts each year nine times since we were approached in 2003 and is extremely happy with the results. Our creative designs helped Eastbourne Borough Council win a prestigious award which we are very proud of.
