The scheme is managed and coordinated by Climate Energy Ltd (on behalf of four Sussex Councils) who came to us seeking help in designing ad creative that would spur homeowners in need of support to make contact.
Our first advertising campaign put the spotlight on the Partnership’s strongest offering to households – free insulation. We communicated this key message in an instant by using a quirky, colourful image of a house wearing a woolly bobble hat, and by pairing it up with the headline ‘FREE insulation at the drop of a hat!’
The phrase ‘drop of a hat’ implies that this is an easy-to-apply-for and promptly delivered offer. The secondary message, ‘cut your heating costs,’ is supported by the promise that ‘thousands of people qualify’ for a council grant.
We also designed a logo for East Sussex Energy Partnership and devised the strapline, ‘Working with your local council,’ which crucially distances the Partnership from less reputable installers of home insulation.
The ad creative commissioned by East Sussex Energy Partnership appeared in a variety of precisely targeted outdoor locations, inside buses, and in local newspapers. This helped to draw attention to the company and ultimately save energy costs for homeowners in the East Sussex area. The fun ‘drop of a hat’ logo had a positive local response, which also helped to publicise the Partnership’s cause.
