Challenge

In March 2026, Carrier sought to reinforce its data centre market position by serving as a Platinum sponsor at Data Centre World (DCW) London. This engagement represented Carrier’s most significant data centre presence to date, featuring an expansive physical stand designed to showcase the Carrier QuantumLeap™ ecosystem. While the physical exhibition attracted local delegates, investors and customers, the overarching strategic challenge was to ensure this investment translated into global industry authority rather than just a localised footprint. For a presence of this scale to be successful, it was necessary to transform a static exhibition into a dynamic narrative that resonated with international trade press and industry stakeholders. To bridge the gap between physical attendance and market-leading visibility, PRG had to navigate three primary obstacles:

  • Content: There was an urgent requirement to provide journalists with immediate, high-accuracy resources. To secure precise and impactful coverage, the media needed technical content that allowed them to report with authority on the day or develop complex features without the friction of additional research.
  • Complexity: Managing Carrier’s largest ever data centre event presence involved coordinating approximately 50 employees, including global senior stakeholders. The complexity of the Carrier QuantumLeap™ ecosystem required disciplined communications to ensure the intricate lifecycle solution was understood, not just seen.
  • Logistics: In the high-traffic, saturated environment of what was recorded as the busiest DCW to date, securing high-value media interest was a significant hurdle. The strategy had to ensure Carrier’s voice was not diminished amidst the noise of a crowded exhibition floor.

Without a PR strategy to manage the complexity of the ecosystem, the core message would have been diluted by generalist media, failing to capture the industry narrative despite the significant capital investment. PRG engineered a comprehensive response to these hurdles by developing a multi-faceted strategic framework designed to maximise visibility and authoritative media impact.

Solution

PRG’s strategic approach focused on the creation of a robust 'PR Tool Kit' and acting as a seamless extension of the Carrier team. PRG ensured that every media touchpoint was curated, from pre-event outreach to real-time asset capture and post-event reporting. The intervention was delivered through a multi-layered execution strategy, grouped into five categories: Media and Press Materials, Spokespeople and Interviews, Awards and Thought Leadership, Media Outreach and Engagement, and Event Support and Reporting. Strategic Asset Development The cornerstone of the intervention was a 25-page press kit designed to maximise journalist efficiency. This kit provided liftable content that could be modified or published directly, including a quotes swipe deck, detailed product factsheets and professional biographies for Carrier spokespeople. By providing these resources alongside a company backgrounder and visual assets, PRG eliminated friction for the media, ensuring high-accuracy reporting and a consistent brand voice across all outlets.

Media Relations and Training

PRG conducted intensive media outreach, building targeted lists of journalists across major UK building services, HVAC, and data centre outlets. To ensure the industry narrative was delivered with authority, PRG provided professional media training for four key spokespeople. This workshop prepared them with key messaging and question-handling techniques, ensuring they were equipped to manage both planned interviews and spontaneous media inquiries on the stand. Panel Moderation & On-Site Support PRG Account Manager, Alex Pontet, was asked by Carrier to moderate a featuring Carrier experts and customers, due to his close working relationship with the team and knowledge of Carrier’s data centre solutions. This involved PRG working closely with the Carrier team and their customers before the event, planning and structuring the discussion and agreeing on the key topics to be addressed. Simultaneously, PRG managed a videography and photography team to capture real-time assets, ensuring the continuous activity at the stand was documented for immediate social media use and post-event promotion.

Award Strategy

To secure vital third-party validation for Carrier’s technology, PRG identified and drafted four technical award entries for the DCW Awards. This process involved interviewing spokespeople and sourcing data to build compelling cases for the following categories: Special Contribution to Improving Energy Efficiency, Environmental Product of the Year, Improving Resilience through Innovation and Security in Tech. By serving as a strategic multiplier, PRG enabled Carrier’s internal specialists to focus entirely on high-calibre customer engagement and investor meetings while PRG engineered the echo chamber of media coverage required to amplify their presence. The success of this strategy is evidenced by the tangible metrics achieved during the two-day event.

Result

The atmosphere at DCW London 2026 was one of intense industry activity, and Carrier stood at the very forefront. With a stand that served as a hub for four daily seminar sessions and hosted an international delegation of Chamber of Commerce leaders, Carrier's prominence was undeniable. This visibility was underpinned by PRG’s management of press opportunities and pre-arranged interviews, which ensured that every opportunity for engagement was capitalised upon. Tasked with booking two journalist interviews at the event with key stakeholders, PRG worked to secure seven interviews. This meant Carrier could deliver critical thought leadership on advanced, sustainable cooling for the AI era, demonstrating how their lifecycle approach addresses extreme thermal limitations in high-density computing to a wider audience. The campaign culminated in significant industry recognition when Carrier was honoured with the 'Security in Tech' award for Nlyte® Device Management. This win, a key component of the wider awards strategy (including earning a total of three shortlisted award categories out of four submissions), provided the perfect third-party endorsement of the robust security and intelligence within the Carrier QuantumLeap™ ecosystem. Ultimately, PRG’s strategy and tactics helped provide the necessary platform to link Carrier’s physical presence to its long-term positioning as an international leader in the AI data centre cooling sector.
