Challenge

Our client Carrier, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, and Pollution Solution, a UK clean-tech innovator, are collaborating on Roadvent®, a revolutionary roadside emissions capture system designed to reduce human exposure to traffic pollution. As this is a game-changing (and potentially lifesaving!) project, PRG anticipate it will be big news. Ahead of the project’s official launch in Lewisham later in 2025, both teams faced the need to present their story clearly and consistently to trade, national and broadcast media. PRG helped them align and feel more confident in delivering this important message.

Solution

PRG researched and identified media training experts with specialist knowledge in high-profile technology and sustainability projects. We interviewed and selected the most suitable partner before coordinating a tailored media training programme for key Carrier and Pollution Solution spokespeople. The sessions equipped the teams with the skills and confidence to engage effectively with journalists and to better understand the media landscape. It helped them become familiar with being interviewed on camera, answering challenging questions, aligning on project messaging, and communicating the huge significance of this breakthrough initiative in tackling urban air pollution.

Result

The training proved a real success. Both teams came away more confident, more consistent in their storytelling and ready to highlight the project’s impact in a clear and compelling way. That preparation has already paid off, with interviews taking place with trade journalists and interest building ahead of the Lewisham launch. Having clear, aligned messaging is particularly important for a project of this scale. Roadvent’s full-scale prototype has already shown a 91% reduction in human exposure to roadside air pollution, a headline figure that needs to be shared effectively with press and policymakers. With Lewisham Council leading the first installation as part of its Air Quality Action Plan and national journalists already lining up to hear more, Carrier and Pollution Solution are now in a strong position to make Roadvent’s launch a major news story.

“"The training gave us the chance to step back and really consider how we tell the Roadvent story. It’s such an important project, not just in terms of technical innovation but in the impact it has on the public, so being able to communicate it clearly and confidently is crucial. The sessions also helped us align as a team, ensuring we’re prepared to share the right messages in the right way, and that makes a real difference when talking about a project of this scale and significance."”
