Last Friday (22nd November 2023), Eastbourne witnessed a landmark event that illuminated the town’s burgeoning digital landscape. The inaugural Eastbourne DigiFest, orchestrated by Chalk Eastbourne, was a triumph, drawing in hundreds of tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Held at the prestigious Welcome Building, the event was curated to provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and exploration within the digital realm. Attendees, regardless of their technical prowess, found an array of offerings tailored to their interests and aspirations.
Chalk Eastbourne, a business-led venture fuelled by the expertise of Switchplane, spearheaded this initiative with hopes that the DigiFest would be the catalyst for the growth of digital jobs in Eastbourne, aiming for a remarkable 10,000 in total.
Distinguished speakers, including Amali de Alwis MBE, a serial entrepreneur and tech startup luminary, and Philip Fumey, Technology Strategist at Microsoft, graced the event. The festivities also featured insightful workshops covering diverse topics such as sector studies and tech inclusivity, adding value to the attendees’ experience.
