Meet the PRG Team Volunteering to Help the Next Generation

As PRG celebrates 45 years of marketing expertise in Eastbourne, we’re taking the opportunity to not only look back at how far we’ve come, but to shine a light on the values that have guided us since the beginning – family, authenticity and excellence.

That means giving back to the community that’s supported us for more than four decades. And while this year we’ve pledged to support a number of local charities including St Wilfrid’s Hospice, our team has been quietly championing community causes for many years – especially when it comes to helping the next generation thrive.

We’re proud to share the stories of two of our team members, Kathryn and Amy, who dedicate their time and energy to supporting children and young people here in Eastbourne through long-standing volunteering roles.

Nurturing confidence through Girlguiding

Kathryn Ranger, PRG’s Account Director, has been volunteering with the 1st Langney Brownies for an impressive 16 years. Based at St Richard’s Church Hall, the unit welcomes girls aged 7–11 each week to take part in fun, engaging activities that build confidence, independence and friendships.

As Assistant Leader, Kathryn supports everything from crafting and games to educational sessions and outdoor adventures. Regular trips to Bushy Wood give the girls the chance to enjoy campfires, teamwork and time away from screens – with plenty of toasted marshmallows along the way.

“Volunteering with Girlguiding has been a constant source of joy and purpose for me,” says Kathryn. “It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the girls develop new skills, make friends and feel part of something. I love being able to give back to the community in this way – it’s a highlight of my week.”

Inspiring young minds through Scouting

Amy Henkel, PRG’s Senior Account Manager, also plays a key role in shaping the lives of young people locally. She’s been a Leader with the 2nd Willingdon Beaver Scouts for five years, helping children aged 6–8 discover the world around them through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration.

Many of their sessions take place at Bushy Wood, where the Beavers can learn practical skills, build confidence and enjoy the freedom of being in nature. Recently, the group partnered with local environmental charity Treebourne to plant trees and champion sustainability.

“For me, it’s all about giving young people the chance to try something new, get outside and learn by doing,” says Amy. “Being a Beaver Leader means helping children grow into confident, curious and capable individuals – and that’s something I feel lucky to be a part of.”

Built on community

At PRG, we believe that people come first – whether that’s our clients, our team or our local community. The dedication shown by Kathryn and Amy is a perfect reflection of our values in action: a quiet commitment to doing good, helping others and making Eastbourne a better place for everyone.

As we look ahead, we remain inspired by the people who make our town so special – and we’ll continue to find new ways to give back, support local causes and celebrate the community that’s helped shape our story for the past 45 years.
