PRG help put together the first Enterprise Job Fair EBN

PRG Marketing Communications was invited by Booksy UK to help put together the first ever Enterprise Job Fair EBN on 2nd October 2021, a job fair aimed at getting the next generation of talent into the local Eastbourne economy.

Focusing on the marketing, sales and tech sectors, the job fair took place on the first floor of the Enterprise Shopping Centre. Alongside PRG Marketing Communications, the companies involved in organising the Enterprise Job Fair were AxisOps, Booksy, Lightning Fibre, Switchplane and Zoonou.

Booksy first got in touch with PRG back in mid-August, with the first planning meeting taking place on 19th August. All the companies involved pledged some funding towards putting this job fair together, with PRG also getting to create some of the artwork and press releases for the job fair. Thus, the EBN Job Fair Committee was born!

The committee attended a weekly catch up, where we discussed what had been done in the past week, our actions for the week ahead and brainstormed new ideas.

The team managed to deliver an awful lot in a short space of time! We managed to get the job fair in the Eastbourne Herald and on Eastbourne Lifestyle’s website. We partnered with Eastbourne Borough Council, Locate East Sussex, The Enterprise Shopping Centre and the Eastbourne BID. Stacey from Booksy was interviewed on Seahaven radio and we arranged for Caroline Ansell MP to attend and support the event.

Despite the weather really going against us, the Enterprise Job Fair was a great success! Plenty of job hungry individuals attended and got talking to the exhibiting businesses about current openings and future opportunities.

Stacey Caffrey, the Project Manager for this task from Booksy, said “I’ve been in recruitment for over 6 years now, and I’ve never seen the job market quite like it is at the moment. I was really pleased to see the job fair come to life. Considering we put it all together in just over 5 weeks, we got a great turnout. We are looking to hold another job fair in Spring 2022 and another one later in the Autumn of next year.”

PRG’s Managing Director, Simon Groves, said “It is no secret that hiring the right talent is hard at the moment. The job market is currently favouring the employee rather than the employer, so by helping put this job fair together we wanted to add another touchpoint for prospects to reach us. We have definitely gained something from this job fair.”
