One such client is Eastbourne Borough Council who contacted PRG to design and create artwork for their newspaper for local residents, The Eastbourne Review. While the magazine is always well received, the latest issue of the review was a particularly important one for the council and residents of the town alike, as it discussed an issue close to the hearts of many local residents – the Downland working farms proposal.
The proposal, which sees the council deciding whether to offer for sale the Downland working farms, needed to be clearly outlined in the review to encourage as many readers to submit their views as possible. A freepost feedback form was also created for the back of the magazine, giving residents the opportunity to pass their opinions on to a council representative.
The Eastbourne Review also creatively displayed content about the new Sovereign Leisure Centre, The Devonshire Park Quarter and the Sovereign Harbour Innovation Park, all local projects important for the development of the town and the people living close by. The striking front cover image of the much loved East Sussex countryside provided an impactful insight in to the content of the Spring 2017 issue.
PRG has a wealth of experience designing and creating magazines, having published a number of publications over the years including the sole resource for the LPG industry, LP Gas magazine. The PRG design studio formatted the Eastbourne Review magazine to present an insightful overview of news containing equal balance of text and images to ensure effective communication with the local residents.
Due to the informative nature of the review, the challenge for the PRG design studio was to ensure a large amount of content was detailed in the magazine, while also keeping readers interested with strong visuals and photos. PRG has previous form undertaking design and marketing work for the council, having worked for various divisions over the years, so the expert design studio was the perfect choice to fulfil all the authorities’ artwork needs.
