Marlow Ropes

The company, which has been supplying high quality leisure marine ropes to over 80 countries around the globe from its base in Hailsham for more than 200 years, needed help with its PR and marketing around the prestigious London Boat Show.

A trusted reputation in the sailing world means Marlow is the perfect partner for any feat of endurance thanks to innovative manufacturing techniques, trusted customer service and the outstanding reputation of the performance and reliability of its products.

Marlow is also the official technical supplier to Land Rover BAR AC team and has been since 2014 and that partnership continues into the 35th America’s Cup. It is also the official partner to the British and French Sailing Teams.

So, at the London Boat Show, which is the ‘must attend’ exhibition in the sailing world, Marlow announced it was a sponsor of the Clipper Round the World Race for amateur sailors for the 16th year and 8th time in total.

Marlow also sponsored and delivered the Racing Performance of the Year award, at the prestigious Yacht & Yachting Awards, which was awarded to Giles Scott – who sailed into the Gold medal history books with his performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Here at PRG we handled the PR announcements about Marlow’s sponsorship of the Clipper Race and the Yacht & Yachting Awards. And our social team also swung into action taking over the channels for Marlow Ropes at what was an extremely busy time for the brand.

Our design team were also able to create a bespoke, modern-looking e-shot to shout about all of the latest Marlow Ropes activities.

On social media, Marlow Ropes saw large increases in engagement. On Facebook, for example, it saw its reach, page likes and engaged users all escalate thanks to the creative content work of PRG.

Commenting on the project, Simon Groves, managing director of PRG, said: “The Marlow Ropes project was an exciting one for the team to take on. The deadline was tight but our creativity and management of the project meant Marlow got the increased engagement it needed. What’s more we will able to take some of the workload from the company at a very busy time.”
