Promoting the high recycled content of cable management products

Challenge

The carbon calculator website would be used to help demonstrate the plastic waste savings that could be achieved by using the company’s Recycled PVC-U cable management products.

Solution

PRG designed a single page website sympathetic to the client’s existing calculators and brand guidelines. We developed a basic content management system (CMS) which would allow us to import over 2,000 products. The CSV file contained specific data which using a formula, would allow the carbon footprint to be quickly calculated and displayed.

The carbon calculator website was designed to calculate three different sets of data: the percentage of PVC-U recycled material contained in individual products; the volume (kg) of PVC-U recycled material saved going to landfill by using each product; and the carbon footprint (tonnes) saved by using each product.

PRG installed Google Analytics to ensure Marshall Tufflex was able to track the number of visitors using the calculator and the number of page views.

Result

The carbon calculator website we designed is easy to use and successfully demonstrates the high volume of PVC-U recycled content our client is using in its cable management products.
