This May, Coca-Cola launched its biggest ever summer campaign ‘Share a Coke’, swapping its brand name on Coke bottles with 150 of the UK’s most popular names, and encouraging its customers to share pictures of its personalised Coke bottles on social media sites using the hashtag ‘#ShareACoke’.
The campaign quickly became effective – over 12,000 tweets have already been sent out by excited customers who have found their personalised Coke bottles! Most social media users have seen or shared a picture of their personalised bottles with their friends and followers, and at one point it seemed that was all you saw on your social media timeline.
But, with the popularity of the campaign and only 150 different names being printed on the bottles, many customers are missing out on the opportunity to get themselves a personalised Coke bottle.
Coke attempted to fix this problem by offering customers the opportunity to go online and create their own personalised virtual can of Coke, but this didn’t carry the same excitement for customers as going into the shop and searching for their named bottle. As a result, Coke has decided to extend the campaign in order to make the personalised bottles available to everyone, no matter how unusual their name! They have begun this by touring the country and stopping off at a total of 70 locations offering customers the chance to printtheir own personalised bottles on site.
If you missed the chance to get a personalised Coke bottle printed near you, then keep an eye out for the additional 100 names Coke is adding to the personalised bottles, including Jacqueline, Katy and Wayne. You never know, you might be one of the lucky 100!
Personalising promotional items is a great way to get your brand name, or company details in front of your target audience, whether it’s for an exhibition, direct mail or part of a fully integrated marketing campaign.
